The Sierra Sportsmen's Club is a membership club devoted to gun safety and firearm-related sports. It is a registered National Rifle Association (NRA), California Rifle and Pistol Association (CRPA), and Single Action Shooting Society (SASS) club. It is a member in good standing with the U.S. Army, Dept. of Civilian Marksmanship program. Sierra Sportsmen's Club has an agreement with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management to operate and maintain a plot of land known as the Rice Canyon Range, at 478-505 Brier Patch Road (off Rice Canyon Road), for the purpose of providing access to shooting sports for the populace in Lassen County.

We have a fully operational range at the Rice Canyon Range that includes firing lines for 25 foot, 50, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, and 800 yard burms. There is a pistol range and a Cowboy Action Shooting range. A skeet and two trap ranges are also available for use. There are 3 out buildings, toilets, and a public parking area. Bring your own food, beverage, and water when visiting the range. The Sierra Sportsmen's Club runs different shooting disciplines that are open to the public almost every weekend from late April (early May depending on the weather) through October.

Some of the disciplines include: CMP High Power Rifle Shoots, Junior shoots for the younger shooters, Ladies Shoots, Cowboy Action Shoots (for both men and women) under SASS guidelines, Trap Shoots, Skeet Shoots, 5 Stand Shoots, Pistol Shoots, Silhouette shoots for black and smokeless powder And much more.
